Summerizing Your
Vehicle
1. In the summertime your car engine's coolant can
reach 250 degrees F, meaning your car could overheat. Make
sure you check your coolant level. Also, have your radiator
checked for any cracks or leaks. Make sure and never check
your radiator while the car is hot!
2. Do a visual check of all your belts around
your engine. A $10 belt can totally stop a $25,000 car in its
tracks. When you inspect the belts, look for cracks and places
where the belt is coming apart. If it looks worn, have it replaced.
3. High temperatures can affect your transmission too.
Most people totally forget about the all important transmission
when they summerize the car. Driving long distances or towing a
boat in high temperatures can cause the transmission to get so hot
that is slips or experiences erratic shifting. Extreme overheating
can also cause the transmission to go out and strand you.
So, checking the transmission fluid level is highly recommended.

REALISTIC Spring Cleaning Checklist
Ok - no one really wants to spring clean.
So, I sorted through the ridiculous article suggesting you scrub
all grout in your home with a toothbrush. REALLY? I'm
lucky if our toilets get cleaned once a month. Here is my list of
realistic Spring cleaing ideas that can be accomplished in a
reasonable timeframe!
1. Dust your air vents and ceiling fans.
2. Wipe down the inside of your refrigerator
and microwave.
3.Throw away expired food especially the condiments
we all forget about! (I still have nightmares about the expired
rice-a-roni crawling on my plate my mom served by
accident when I was a kid.)
4. Machine wash your pillows. Pillows
that you sleep on harbor lots of bacteria and are usually machine
washable.
5. Vacuum under furniture. (This requires you
actually moving furniture.)
6. Purge - If you haven't worn it in the past year,
donate it. Kids don't play with it-
donate it. Ladies - throw out expired makeup (click here for
a list of when makeup types expire).
